What is ChAi and how does it work

ChAi is a customer retention analytics platform that shows recurring revenue businesses who's about to churn and why.

ChAi is a customer retention analytics platform that helps recurring revenue businesses — gyms, agencies, insurance brokers, subscription services, and professional services — see who's about to leave, and exactly what to do about it.

Instead of guessing which customers are unhappy, ChAi connects to the data you already have and turns it into a clear risk picture. For each customer, ChAi shows:

  • A health score (0–100) — how engaged and stable this customer is right now
  • A churn probability — how likely this customer is to leave in the next 90 days
  • A risk breakdown — the specific reasons behind that score, so you understand why, not just that, a customer is at risk
  • Recommended next steps, so you know where to focus first

ChAi is built to work with the data you have, even if it's incomplete or messy. You don't need clean, perfectly structured data to get started.

How ChAi learns your business

No two businesses measure customer health the same way. A gym cares about attendance and membership renewals. An insurance broker cares about policy renewals and claims experience. A SaaS company cares about logins and feature adoption.

During onboarding, ChAi asks you a set of questions about your industry, your customers, and what healthy engagement looks like for your business. It uses your answers to generate a custom set of retention metrics — specific to you, not a generic template. These metrics are what drive your customer health scores.

What ChAi does every day

Once your data is connected, ChAi runs automatically in the background. Here's what happens:

Every night at 6am UTC, ChAi scores every customer using your latest data. Health scores are updated, churn probabilities are recalculated, and the action list is refreshed.

Every morning, you open the Today screen — your daily retention brief. It shows:

  • An AI-generated headline summarising the state of your customer base
  • The top 5 customers that need your attention today, ranked by urgency
  • A specific suggested action for each one — not just "this customer is at risk" but "call them this week and ask about X"

Every Monday at 7am, ChAi sends you a weekly digest email with the same summary — who slipped, what changed, and who to contact first. Useful for starting your week with a clear retention priority list before you even open the app.

What ChAi is not

ChAi is not a CRM — it doesn't replace HubSpot or Zoho. It reads from them.

ChAi is not a helpdesk — it reads from Zendesk, Intercom, and Freshdesk but doesn't manage tickets.

ChAi is not a BI tool — you don't build dashboards or write queries. ChAi does the analysis and tells you what matters.

Think of ChAi as the analyst who reads all your data, figures out who's about to leave, and hands you a prioritised to-do list every morning.
